Ask Angie: How to Be a Courteous Couponer

Five ways to be a more courteous couponer.

Don't be the grouchy coupon lady! Sometimes as couponers we get frazzled when we get to the register. To help things run smoothly follow these simple tips:

  1. Know the policy- Always know the store’s coupon policy. It will help avoid problems at the register.
  2. Don’t clear shelves- Don’t be this person. Just don’t. Nobody likes to seek a deal to encounter an empty shelf. Buy what you and your family will need and leave some for others.
  3. Read the restrictions on the coupon (the fine print) and follow it!
  4. Be considerate-. Tell your cashier and customers behind you ahead of time of your coupons and organize your coupons prior to getting in line.
  5. Be proud of your savings and share with family and friends.
Apply these simple guidelines and you will be on your way to happy experiences while couponing.
