How to Get More Freebies Without Wasting Time - My Tried-and-True Hacks

Want to find out how to get more freebies? My tips will help you start getting your own freebie wins - no gimmicks and no spam.

How to Get More Freebies

Hey, I'm Jessica, a busy mom, wife, side-hustler, etc. who loves a bargain almost as much as my morning coffee. I've been finding free samples and freebies for almost 20 years and over time, I've picked up some tried-and-true tips to help others score the best free samples in the mail. Over the last year, I've scored everything from beauty samples to snack crates and here's how I did it.

1. Join the Right Free Sample Sites

I started small with MySavings.com, Home Tester Club, Gratsy, BzzAgent and quickly learned that being active helps. When a new sample drops, fast responses matter. I treat my phone alerts like concert tickets These sites are treasure troves, but you've got to show up for them.

2. Set Up a Dedicated Email

All those sample and survey confirmations clogging your inbox? Yeah, that was me until I made a freebies-only email. Now I don't miss offers buried under newsletters or sale alerts. My favorite is gmail because you can create as many free emails as you'd like.

3. Take Quick, Fun Surveys

Many companies roll out goodies in exchange for feedback. I'll spare 5-10 minutes on something if it means a freebie. Try Toluna, Swagbucks, or Influenster

BONUS TIP: Even if the sample “closes early,” you might still get a coupon.

4. Follow Brands on Social Media

Follow your favorite brands on Instagram/Facebook (especially the smaller ones). When they launch a new product, they often drop “comment to win” freebies. I once tagged three friends and won a month's supply of face masks and for this beauty junkie, it was almost as good as winning the lottery!

5. Engage and Speak Up

I sent a DM to a boutique skincare line thanking them for their samples and they sent me a sample set of their products for free. Being polite and sharing your genuine feedback really can pay off.

6. Time Your Tries and Stay Persistent

Some brands only drop samples during product launches or holidays. Keep a simple tracking list, like “chocolate bar in March” or “new shampoo in June.” Check back often and if a sample window closes, hang in there because new ones might pop up next time.

7. Be Honest with Your Profiles

It might be tempting to exaggerate on surveys or create multiple accounts to score more samples, but trust me, honesty pays off in the long run. Many brands look for real feedback from their actual target audience and being truthful helps you get matched with products that actually suit you. I've had better luck (and more relevant freebies) by just being myself.

Freebie Checklist: What You'll Need

  • A dedicated email
  • Alerts from sample sites or their apps
  • A little patience, and speed
  • A dash of personality when you engage

I'm still working on prioritizing, because I don't need seven mascaras, but I do love trying new things without shelling out cash!

When It Doesn't Work

Fair warning: some freebies vanish quickly. You don't get everything, but I treat missed opportunities as “free entertainment.”  And the unexpected wins? Totally worth it.

My Favorite Sites to Check Regularly

Freebies have become a little joy in my everyday routine, like a surprise gift from the universe (or at least the mailman lol). After doing this for nearly two decades, I've learned that patience, persistence and a little curiosity go a long way. Whether it's a new beauty item, a snack I probably wouldn't have tries or just a fun mail day, the thrill never really gets old. If you're just getting started or already deep into the freebie game, I hope these tips help you score something fun and free. Enjoy!
