Summer reading just got a whole lot more exciting. Across the country, libraries, bookstores, and major brands are offering free programs packed with prizes to encourage kids to keep turning pages all summer.

Summer Reading Programs
Barnes & Noble
Kids in grades 1-6 can earn a free book with the Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program. Read any eight books this summer, record them in your Summer Reading Journal and write which part of the book is your favorite, and why. Bring your completed journal to a Barnes & Noble store & choose your free book.
Books-A-Million
Get a free bag at Books-A-Million when you read any 4 books from the reading challenge selection. Write about them in your reading log and present your completed reading journal in stores to receive your free gift.
Chuck E. Cheese
Kids can earn 10 free play points for every 2 weeks of reading with the Chuck E. Cheese Reading Rewards Calendar.
Dolly Parton Imagination Library
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five, Kids can receive a free book every month. Select your country and register your child to see if they qualify - this program is not available in all areas.
Half Price Books
Starting June 1st, registered participants have access to printable camp components all summer, including reading lists, activity ideas, and coloring sheets. You can also visit your local HPB to receive a copy of your camper's Summer Reading Log, cool camp stickers, and information on how to earn $5 Bookworm Bucks in June and July.
H-E-Buddy
At the beginning of June, Texas residents can earn a free H-E-Buddy Summer Reading Club Prizes. Read 10 books during the Summer, fill out the form and mail it in by October 1st to get your free H-E-Buddy Prizes such as a backpack, markers, lunch bag and more. Valid for children aged 3-12 years.
Your Local Library
Check with your local library for Summer reading programs and challenges. Many libraries have programs that allow kids to earn free books or cool prizes just for reading.
Mensa for Kids
The Mensa for Kids Excellence in Reading Program challenges readers of all ages, open to those under 18, their teachers, librarians, and anyone regardless of Mensa membership. It offers recognition for completing lists of books, including a certificate, a free T-shirt, and other rewards.
New Worlds Reading
The New Worlds Reading Initiative is a free literacy program in Florida that provides eligible students (VPK - 5th grade) with free books and activities to support reading development and build a love of reading.
Nothing Bundt Cakes Books and Bundts Reading Program
The Books & Bundts is a self-paced program the encourages young readers to dive into books while earning sweet rewards. Kids that reach reading milestones have a chance for a sweet photo op and a free Bundtlet. Check with your location to see if they are participating.
Panda Express
Join the Panda Express Read with Me Program to get a free bookmark and reward materials. Plus, kids that read 5 books will receive a free Panda Express Kids Meal coupon.
Pizza Hut Book It!
During the summer months of June, July, and August, any child that meets their parent-set reading goals can earn a free Pizza Hut single topping Personal Pan Pizza from participating locations. Limit of 5 Personal Pan Pizza certificates per family, per month.
Reading with the Rays
Starting Sunday, May 25th, kids can download a Reading with the Rays game card to start reading and earning fun prizes like team swag, tickets to games and more.
Scholastic
From May 9th - September 12th, kids can visit the summer zone in Scholastic Home Base to read books and stories; attend author events; interact with their favorite characters; play book-based games and activities; join dance parties; and more. The longer a child extends their Reading Streak, the more digital experiences they earn.
Seahawks
Each summer, the Seahawks are proud to offer our Summer Reading Challenge. By reading throughout school break and logging your minutes, you could win cool prizes and a reading visit at your school.

Arm & Hammer Summer Camp is a free, on-demand virtual summer camp with a daily themed playlist of influencer-led activities, plus exclusive activity sheets and more.
Camp Corral
Camp Corral offers free Summer camp to children of wounded, ill, injured, and fallen service members.
Kids Bowl Free
Kids Bowl Free offers kids the chance to get 2 free games of bowling each day, thru the Spring & Summer - over a $500 value per child! Select your state, click your bowling center and complete the registration page.
Kids Skate Free
Kids Skate Free has teamed up with select skating centers across the country to participate in the Kids Skate Free program which offers free Skating for kids! Join the Kids Skate Free Club and you'll receive your free skate passes every week.
Summer Eats
Summer Eats is a totally free-of-charge program that provides free meals to all kids and teens, ages 18 and under, at locations all across Massachusetts during the summer months.
National Parks
All current fourth graders (including home schooled) can now get their free National Park Pass! The pass gives you free access to hundreds of national parks, national forests, national wildlife refuges, and more. Planet Fitness
Teens aged 14 - 19 years old can work out for free this Summer at Planet Fitness. Registration can be done online or in-club starting May 19th and teens can then work out staring June 1st through August 31st - totally free. In-Store Workshops
Multiple stores offer free monthly workshops for kids. Check out and register for free kids' DIY workshops at Home Depot, JCPenney, Lakeshore Learning, Lowe's, and Pottery Barn.
Young Eagles Flights
Kids ages 8-17 can get a free plane ride courtesy of the EAA Young Eagles program. These flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of EAA member volunteers. Just search for the closest volunteer pilot near you & contact them to arrange a convenient time for your kiddos to go flying.
