Ask Angie: Rain Checks and Purchase Rewards

What a bummer to get to the store only to find the shelves have been cleared :( Early bird gets the worm, right? What if this early bird likes to sleep in? Then I miss all the good deals? I think not! I'll just get a rain check instead and come back at another time. Rain checks are coupon-like tickets or vouchers to get a product for the sale price on a later date.
If you encounter cleared shelves, don't worry! You have a few options:
1. Ask an employee if the products can be found in an another location within the store and ask if there is more in the "back".
2 You could ask an employee to find the product at another local store.
3.Go up to Customer Service and grab a Rain Check.
Just keep an eye on the expiration dates of the coupons you plan to use with your Rain Check. Grabbing a Rain Check will guarantee that you get the sale price on a product after the sale has ended so you don't miss out on the deal.
Now Let's talk about Purchase Rewards
Many store offer incentives like $5 Gift Cards, Extrabucks, Plenti Points and Register Rewards when you purchase certain items. When you combine these offers with sale pieces and coupons you can save even more on your shopping trip. Here are a few of my favorite Purchase Rewards and where to find them:ExtraBucks- Extrabucks are CVS money coupons that will take a specified amount off your next purchase.
Register Rewards and Balance Rewards- Register Rewards is Walgreens money that can be used on your next purchase. Balance Rewards are points you accumulate when you purchase certain item at Walgreens.
Plenti Points- Rite Aid uses a point system. When you purchase a specific item you earn Plenti Points. Which can then be used to take additional money off your next purchase once you have accumulated enough points.
Most of these Purchase Rewards are given to you after you have made a purchase. Just save them for your next trip!
