McDonald's is Now Requiring Face Masks

The burger giant is joining an ever expanding list of companies that now require masks.

Planning to eat inside a McDonald's this weekend? You better bring a face mask! McDonald's will require customers to wear face coverings when entering their US restaurants effective August 1.

Why are they requiring masks all of a sudden? They point to increasing positive numbers over the past two weeks, CDC guidelines, and the latest science that suggests droplets have the potential to stay in the air for extended periods of time, increasing the risk of virus spread, especially from asymptomatic carriers.

McDonald's also seems to have a plan for those that won't wear a mask stating "In those situations where a customer declines to wear a face covering, we’ll put in place additional procedures to take care of them in a friendly, expedited way. Additionally, we will provide training for our restaurant staff to ensure they are prepared to address this new policy in a friendly and positive way." Maybe a plexiglassed corner time-out booth lol?

In addition to the face masks McDonald's is also installing more protective planning, increasing trainings and they are also halting the reopening of any currently closed inside dining rooms for another 30 days. Read more details from this latest announcement here.
