I went to an Aveda salon in Glen Allen, VA. The samples were in stock and the salesperson readily handed them over. She seemed like she was in a rush to get rid of me. When I lived in Florida, the salespeople offered me a cup of tea, provided the samples, gave a free massage, and asked about my needs!! This was at an Aveda store (the better experience). something about the salons. . .

I went to the Aveda salon in downtown St. Petersburg. While they were out of the foot cream, they readily compensated with rosemary mint shampoo and conditioner (travel size). All in all, a good experience.

I went to Pur Natur salon in Fairview Heights, IL with a postcard I got for signing up for e-newsletters at aveda.com. The salon was listed on the postcard as a participating location. The staff was beyond rude. I was told to go to the Galleria in St.Louis if I wanted something for free. They had the 8oz sizes next to the register, but I was told I had to purchase something to get it. The postcard said no purchase was required. I emailed aveda. I will report back.

If anyone is in the Tampa area, go by the Aveda store at Int'l Plaza and ask for Sasha. My experience was great. I did not know Aveda had product for women of color. Sasha told me about the mini free facials, consultations and freebies, all while I had a free cup of tea. PS. All of their products are petro free!

I took them to the local Aveda spa and they said they do not honor the coupons. I then emailed Aveda headquaters and they replied "Thank you but..". Weird. Maybe next time!

go to aveda.com and sign up for e-newsletters. You get offers about once per month, and about two emails per month. great if your local salon has friendly staff who honor the coupons they are supposed to honor.
