1. The Coupons App

Available on both Apple and Android devices, The Coupons App is arguably one of the best new free coupon apps out there. Since 2008, The Coupons App has been a trusted source by millions to score coupons, deals, and special offers from more than 100,000 different retailers. Plus, the app also integrates with Groupon so you can opt-in to view new daily deals in your area.

2. Rakuten

Rakuten (formerly known as Ebates) is an app (or web browser extension if you prefer) that will earn you cashback on your purchases. Just use the app to shop over 3,500+ stores and earn a percentage back on your purchase! The cashback varies by store, but they also run promotions where it can at times be doubled, so keep a watch out for those.  I also want to alert you to a current incentive when you join today, you’ll get a $10 bonus if you spend $25!

6. Ibotta

The Ibotta App is one of my favorites because it’s easy to use and offers a wide variety of offers on brands you know, and love and they even have “any brand” rebates!  In most cases you can buy multiple items and earn on each one, making stocking up on groceries extremely easy.  Cashback values can vary by individual or location.  100% cash back offers aren’t uncommon — who doesn’t love freebies!?  While it includes offers for foods, personal care items, and household goods, you’ll also find savings on automotive, toys, appliances, electronics, books, and more!

You can also earn extra cash through bonuses. It’s available at most major stores (leaves out some of the smaller local grocery stores). It includes shopping beyond the normal household goods like clothing stores, hardware stores, restaurants, and more! Opt for PayPal, a Bank Deposit, or a free gift card when you cash out!

Simply browse the offers and add the ones you think you will use. You’ll need to do this before you shop.  You’ll also want to read the fine print too.  Some can be combined with paper coupons, and some cannot!

Did you know savings for P&G brand products have moved exclusively to P&G Good Everyday? While this one is not an app, you can access it and print coupons right from your phone. Even better, you can submit Ibotta rebates for many of the P&G products too! While they do have a few coupons in the mainstream Sunday inserts from time to time, the big P&G Brandsaver Insert is no more! If you favor P&G products like Tide, Crest, Charmin, Bounty, Always, and more, you’re going to want to check out P&G Good Everyday.

Expert Tip: Follow your favorite savings websites will alert you to the Ibotta freebies and other free stuff! MySavings IS your source for finding them!  Sign up for the daily newsletter as well as follow on Facebook, Telegram, Instagram, and Twitter so that you’ll be the first to know when they are available! You can also join our exclusive Facebook group for even more fun with like-minded freebie-seeking friends!

7. Fetch Rewards

Scan your receipts to earn points for buying popular brands like Frito Lay, Ruffles, Pillsbury, Betty Crocker, Glad, Barilla, All, Jimmy Dean, Scott, M&Ms, Pepsi, and MORE!  Join clubs with certain brands like Huggies and General Mills for even more rewards. And even if your receipt doesn’t contain one of the featured items, you will still earn points for just uploading it!  Gas, restaurant and other non-grocery receipts will still earn you points.  Even better, they often offer 100% back items.  That means, when you buy the item they specify, you’ll get your purchase price back in points!  You can redeem your points for rewards — there are lots and lots of gift cards!  When you sign up you’ll get a bonus of 2,000 points on your first receipt.  Depending on what you buy, you really could have a gift card with just your first receipt!

Check out Fetch Rewards - use code FETCH100 for 100 points free

Expert Tip: You get a spin for bonus points every 24 hours as long as you upload a receipt. If you shop multiple stores in a single day, hold those receipts and submit them over the next few days so you can maximize your points with those spins!

8. Checkout 51

Claim rebates on groceries with receipts from ANY store (though some offers may be store-specific). You can use it on your mobile phone OR on your computer.  The offers are available for only one week, released on Thursdays, and end on Wednesdays, but there are limited quantities of some of them. You’ll want to read the fine print as some offers are not valid if you use a coupon.  You’ll find brands like Sara Lee, Famous Amos, Suavitel, Vitafusion, and more! You can request payment by check when you accumulate at least $20. They have even offered free samples from time to time!

9. Shopmium

Recently revamped and taking the place of Coupons.com is Shopmium! (Long-time couponers will recognize the name as this app existed years ago before leaving and now returning!) Now all you have to do is add your offers to your list, then after you purchase the items, take a picture of your receipt and scan the barcodes on the items.  You’ll get cash via PayPal — almost immediately at that!  (Tip: Make sure you add the offer to your account BEFORE you shop!)

Shopmium even offers freebies from time to time! I wanted to point out too, that this is a really viable option for those of you that can’t print but love those Coupons.com coupons as they are nearly always the same! The only downfall is that you’re limited to 1 redemption per item, so stocking up on your favorite laundry detergent or toothpaste isn’t going to happen.

10. GetUpside

GetUpside is a FREE cashback app where users can earn up to 25¢ per gallon cash back on gas, up to 45% cash back at restaurants (which might essentially equal getting free food), and up to 30% cash back at grocery stores! Once it’s been approved the cash will appear in your account. Cash out to your bank account, PayPal, or select one of many gift cards! Consider referring friends for a $5 bonus!

Earn rewards in-store and online! Shopkick is the shopping app that rewards you with FREE gift cards or PayPal for the shopping you already do!  Simply get points or kicks for your purchases online or by scanning your receipts on specific products. What is fun about Shopkick is that you don’t actually have to purchase anything to earn points. Just find and scan certain items in stores to earn points – it’s like a scavenger hunt in the store but it’s easy. You can also check out the “Discover” section and watch ads to earn kicks too! Referrals can earn you more as well!

Expert Tip: Retail receipts will earn you points, home improvement stores earn you free spins, and restaurants earn you sweep entries, but ALL receipts count toward your weekly bonus! You have 14 days to submit your receipts, so to make the most of your weekly bonuses; you can spread some of those receipts out to ensure that you get to claim it.

13. CoinOut

Simply take a picture of your receipts and/or connect your digital accounts and earn points – cash out at as little as $3 via PayPal, Zelle, or Amazon. Reach new levels and you’ll earn MORE points with each receipt! You can also earn more points by completing bonuses and earning spins with their CoinFrenzy.

(Note: This app has been around for a while but has recently been revamped. My experience is that this change has made it much easier to earn than it was before. If you’ve checked it out previously and weren’t too impressed, you might want to revisit it again.)

16. Amazon Shopper Panel

While this one is invite-only, you CAN download the app, apply, and cross your fingers that you get selected.  It’s the easiest and most rewarding in my opinion.  All you must do is submit 10 receipts each month and you’ll earn $10 toward your Amazon balance for that month. (Or donation to a charity if you so choose.) Submitting receipts is as easy as taking a picture of your paper receipt or forwarding your emailed receipt. You can earn more by answering surveys on some of the products you buy.

17. Flipp

While it’s not a couponing or cashback app, Flipp can be pretty helpful as a shopper.  It features Weekly Store Ads all in one place and allows you to search by Store or by Items/Brand names! This one is also available as a website. Just pop in your zip code and it will tailor it to all the stores in your area. For me, I see which stores have sales before I go and that can help me save some dough.

18. Gas Buddy

The price of gas is…well…frightening! But that aside, the price does vary from location to location. So being able to look up and see which gas station has the lowest price is a savings that can totally add up! Utilize their website or the app!

ShopSavvy touts itself as a price comparison tool, but it’s really more! It not only compares prices for the items you’re looking at buying, but it also displays user reviews to help you decide.
